The Author

George Wallace Jr. was born in Eufaula, Alabama, on October 17, 1951. In 1970, he graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery; following that, he and his band traveled with Hank Williams Jr. before obtaining a BA Degree in history from Huntingdon College in 1976.

 

He continued his education with graduate work in Political Science and Public Administration at Auburn University in Montgom­ery. George Jr. served two terms as Treasurer of the State of Alabama as well as two terms as Public Service Commissioner. He also worked in higher education with Troy University and Auburn University in Montgomery. This is his second book about his family. George now writes and speaks in semi­retirement.
